It will focus on early identification of these signs and how to avoid surprises in this area. It will talk about how to have these discussions with an organizations board, management and auditors. It will touch upon these issues in conjunction with the recently effective accounting guidance on going concern as well as liquidity.

With a deep understanding of the strategic, operational and political challenges and opportunities facing private colleges and universities, Conroy has amassed a breadth and depth of experience dealing with multifaceted, dynamic and complex situations.

    Stuart Miller, CPA, Partner, Crowe Horwath LLP, Chicago, IL

    Mr. Miller has over thirty years of audit and business advisory experience in the public sector arena, specializing in higher education, research organizations, private foundations, religious institutions, membership organizations, and social service agencies.
    He has served some of the largest and most prestigious institutions in the Chicagoland area as well as some of the smallest and most effective exempt organizations. Mr. Miller has significant experience in financial reporting, budgeting, governmental regulations, organizational reviews and business process redesign. He is a regular conference speaker on subjects impacting not-for-profit organizations and currently chairs the AICPAs Not-for-Profit Revenue Recognition Task Force.

    Mr. Miller is a member of the AICPA, Illinois CPA Society, National Association of College and University Business Officers, Donors Forum, American Society of Association Executives, and National Eagle Scout Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Poetry Foundation.

    Mr. Miller graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
