In November 2018, the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) published a complete set of 77 globally applicable, industry-specific standards which identify the minimal set of financially material sustainability topics and their associated metrics for the typical company in an industry. These standards are designed to be cost-effective for companies to implement and decision-useful to both companies and investors.

This webcast, presented by Dan Goelzer, a Board Member of SASB will cover the Conceptual Framework and Rules of Procedure followed by the SASB staff and Standards Board to develop these standards. The session will also highlight the resources created for users, including the SASB Materiality Map®, the SASB Engagement Guide, the SASB Navigator online research platform, and the new SASB Implementation Guide for Companies.

  • Dan Goelzer

    Board Member, SASB Dan Goelzer is a retired partner in the law firm of Baker McKenzie. He advises a Big Four accounting firm on audit quality issues and is a member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board. He was a member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board from 2002 to 2012 and was Acting PCAOB Chair from 2009 to 2011. From 1983 to 1990, Mr. Goelzer served as General Counsel of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
