Leading teams that thrive without you is about stepping away: First, from micromanagement which has a speed limit, with your team running to your personal capacity and not theirs. And second, from being needy and wanting to do too much on your own, versus growing and enabling your people to do it on their own. Your focus should be on creating the conditions that enable your team to thrive without you! The most important focus for a leader is in creating the conditions that enable their people to deliver the success. You cannot micromanage your way to long-term success, you need to grow and empower your people to deliver on their own (both individually and as a team).
