Programme outline
This special presentation to mark International Women's Day, will acknowledge and explore the various organisational and societal factors that influence the workplace and will also focus on ideas/suggestions for how we, as women, can do more to support ourselves and each other.
Dr Jenni Jones will share fascinating research and practice around the past and present position of women in business plus some thoughts for how we might help ourselves better towards shaping a brighter future.
Much has been written about the growth of women in business and:
- there are more women than ever in the labour market
- there are more women than ever in senior positions
- there are more women than ever running their own businesses.
However, women still experience horizontal and vertical discrimination in the workplace.
Firstly, Jenni will be sharing facts and figures globally, within the UK and with the CIMA related professions and then examples will be shared of how women have transformed the success of a variety of businesses through the key competencies that they bring.
Jenni will give advice to help women define and shape their future going forward.
Finally, there will be a round-up of hints and tips to share with others in the workplace.
Dr Jenni Jones
Dr Jenni Jones is an Associate Professor in Coaching and Mentoring at the University of Wolverhampton.
Jenni teaches undergraduate and professional postgraduate programmes mostly focussed on coaching, mentoring, leadership, change and diversity.
She works on a variety of internal and external projects related to leadership and diversity.
Jenni actively researches in these areas and has presented at national and international Conferences, as well as publishing related books and articles.
