Please join, in person, a roundtable discussion 'How to Excel in Modelling'. You are also invited to meet your regional committee for refreshments and welcome to observe their meeting to understand what they do to maximise the benefits of CIMA membership for local members.

The discussion about Excel will be led by Stephen Edwards, director, Pactolus Consulting Ltd.

Drawing on nearly 30 years of Excel experience, and with reference to the Financial Modelling Code, the presentation will cover:

How to layout a spreadsheet
Error checks
Scenarios
Result recording
Tables of contents (useful with a big workbook)
Tips to make working with Excel quicker, and a little Excel magic.

Stephen Edwards

Stephen Edwards, director, Pactolus Consulting Ltd, started using Excel in 1992 whilst doing an MBA in the USA, and has been modelling ever since, working for multinational companies and in the public sector.

Having qualified in 2003, he is now Chairman of the Learning, Education and Development Committee for CIMA North West England and North Wales.
