Investing in employee wellbeing can lead to increased resilience, better employee engagement, reduced sickness absence and higher performance and productivity.
At this face to face event we will hear from HR expert, Shelley Poole, Managing Director at Wellington HR and Chair CIPD West of England and David Johnson, FCMA, CGMA and CIMA council member.
During the evening we will discuss;
• how investing in a wellbeing strategy has a positive impacts on individuals/staff
• how to gain real benefit from a wellbeing strategy
• how employee wellbeing priorities must be integrated throughout an organisation, embedded in its culture, leadership and people management
• how to build an effective business case for a wellbeing strategy
• the financial implications of a successful wellbeing strategy
Shelley Poole, Managing Director at Wellington HR and Chair, CIPD West of England
Shelley is the Managing Director of Somerset-based HR consultancy, Wellington HR Limited, as well as Chair of the West of England Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Shelley works with employers across a range of sectors, many of whom are grappling with the topics to be considered within this presentation. Previously Shelley has worked in in-house HR roles in sectors including the charity sector, manufacturing, and financial services.
Shelley also currently lectures on leadership and management qualifications at the University of South Wales, and is near completion of PhD research considering employee voice in employee owned organisations.
Formerly Shelley was Health & Welfare HR Adviser for the RNLI.
David Johnson, FCMA, CGMA, CIMA council member
David is an FCMA CGMA, and an executive coach and mentor with numerous years of experience. Having worked in large conglomerates he now runs his own business working as a turnaround specialist using his strong financial background, which has been enhanced by his coach and mentor training.
David’s involvement as a volunteer within CIMA includes the establishment of a Mentoring Group in his Area of the UK and he is now working with a small team to develop and deliver the CIMA mentoring programme throughout the UK and beyond. He is also a Member of CIMA Council and sits on other committees.
David helps people, teams and organisations understand themselves and their challenges; focus, reassess, remove obstacles and blockers to move forward at pace.
