James will look to give insights into the current business environment from a corporate bank perspective, outline the options for green and sustainable investment and how the bank is responding to this important global issue. It will advocate for the growing need for professional accountants to be involved in these emerging activities as they move ever more into the mainstream of finance. From an industry perspective we will also cover in brief key industry trends from manufacturing, transport and logistics.

James Lean leads a sector focused team supporting clients with turnover £50m and upwards from offices in London, Cambridge, and Milton Keynes.
James joined Barclays in 2007 from a Fintech background and spent 10 years as a sector focused Relationship Director to large corporates across Eastern region. For the past 3 years, he has been regional Head of Mid-Corporate for Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire.
James is a strong believer in understanding each industry’s unique strengths and opportunities and shaping the bank to support that. Key focus areas are growth & investment, digital transformation, fraud prevention, inclusion and bringing together all of Barclays to clients.
We understand the need to provide a safe space where you can feel comfortable in seeking advice from others and have open conversations.
