• the 8 principles of great change management

• case studies (from his time in both the military and commercial worlds the lessons he has learned about change).

This will be an interactive session in which everyone will work together to discuss the issues, find solutions, and learn some simple techniques.

Chris Paton, Managing Director, Quirk Solutions

Chris is the Managing Director of Quirk Solutions, a management consultancy which specialises in business resilience and execution success, working with large brands, SME’s and in the public sector with the NHS and other government departments. In his former career Chris was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Marines and advisor to the Cabinet and National Security Council on the Afghan strategy. He saw active service in a wide range of places including Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Georgia and Afghanistan. What motivates Chris more than anything is a sense of helping others. This probably is due in part to his service background and sense of duty, but ‘fixing problems’ for organisations and seeing them improve as a result gives him a big grin. This enthusiasm, and his genuine desire to make a difference, draws client teams with him and helps overcome change resistance. Bi-lingual in French and with a Masters Degree in International Liaison and Communication, Chris is a Fellow of the Strategic Planning Society where he is recognised for his ‘deep knowledge, education and experience in strategy’. Chris is also a Fellow of the Society of Leadership Fellows, St George’s House and lectures on the London Business School’s Executive Education Programme. In 2010 Chris co-authored an article on ‘How the UK’s Royal Marines Plan in the Face of Uncertainty‘ which was published in the Harvard Business Review.
