Programme outline

Saket will walk-through the key areas of IFRS lease accounting for both lessee and lessors. He will use real-life examples to help you analyse the impact of the standard on IFRS financial statements, including presentation and disclosures.

Learning outcomes:

  • Lessee accounting - Initial recognition and subsequent measurement of lease assets and liabilities, including impact of lease modifications

Saket Modi is the Founder and Director of Square Mile Global Consulting (www.smglobal.co.uk), a London headquartered financial training and consulting company and a Channel Partner of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA & CIMA).

Saket specialises in IFRS, including financial instruments and insurance contracts, and IPSAS. He has spent considerable time working, advising and training in matters relating to IFRS and facilitated workshops for finance professionals from over 50 countries in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. Saket has worked with organisations in different sectors, including banking, financial services, insurance, energy, technology, and professional and educational institutions.

Saket has previously worked with Lloyds Bank and Ernst & Young in London. He is a Chartered Accountant (India), holds IFRS certificate (ICAEW) and IPSAS Diploma (CIPFA), and is a CFA® charterholder.
