Brad will discuss the pros and cons of starting your own consultancy service, finding clients, what to charge, the practical accountancy you need to know and, how to actually get started legally and practically. Julie Bickerdyke FCMA, CGMA, will be on hand to share experience and perspectives, from a member in practice.

Speakers’ details:

Bradley Channer FCMA, CGMA, LRAM, Chief Finance Officer at UBIO Ltd, also Founder of Acceler8me.

Brad set up Acceler8me in 2014 – an FD/CFO consultancy service helping scale and grow start-ups, early-stage businesses, and SMEs. He is currently the full time CFO for UBIO Ltd – an early-stage software company.

Brad fell into accountancy after being an entrepreneur and freelance finance director. In his career, he has worked with well over 50 companies of different shapes and sizes, in a FD/CFO capacity, raised over $20m in investment, exited four companies (including two of his own) and, has scaled three UK companies into the US.

Brad is a CIMA Council Member and, sits on the Members’ in Practice (MIP) Committee. Outside of CIMA, Brad sits on the boards for two charities, also for a number of start-up businesses.

Julie Bickerdyke FCMA, CGMA, Founder and Managing Director of Not Just an FD – providing outsourced finance director services to small businesses, is the CIMA Members in Practice Committee Secretary. She also acts as a mentor for other accountants on CIMA’s mentoring scheme.
